God met Paul on the road to Damascus in spectacular fashion as he struck the Jewish rabbi down in a torrent of blazing light and brought him to a turning point in His life – a turning point that would see Rabbi Saul become Rabbi Paul, the greatest evangelist known to man. Many of us has had similar experiences where God brought us to the end of ourselves, only to be resurrected to newness of life in Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel.
Pastor Aleksey, senior pastor of Beit Immanuel Messianic Congregation in Tel Aviv-Yafo, met God under similar circumstances. He was living life according to his own dictates and rules, and allowed himself to be carried along in a life of crime and rebellion, but then Pastor Aleksey had his Damascus road experience, and in a twist of fate found himself in a jail cell in northern Russia, not knowing what the future held, and if he still had a future to live for. Here’s his story of how God’s light of salvation found him in a dark prison cell…
Before God found us and called us unto Himself, we were all led astray like sheep, and lived individual lives driven by our own passions and desires. We walked the highways and byways of life, looking for meaning in all manner of things that the world offered us, but then that day came – the same day that saw Pastor Aleksey turn from his old ways and embrace God’s way.
The end of all these individual wanderings of ours were turned in a beautiful union with the Spirit, and a unity as the body of Christ. Where we were once lone wanderers lost in our sins, we have now become part of the household of God, beloved children, who were conveyed from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of the Son of His love.
God is moving in Israel, and we are seeing more Israelis coming to a saving knowledge of Yeshua than ever before. We would like to encourage you to pray daily for the nation of Israel, and for her salvation to be established.
We would also like to invite you to partner with us here at Beit Immanuel as we preach the Gospel, disciple the flock, care for the sick and poor, and prepare the soil of Israel for the return of Messiah Yeshua!
When you partner with us through your prayers and finances, we become co-laborers, the one new man in Christ, building our God’s Kingdom in Israel and laying the foundation for the dat when “All of Israel will be saved!” Amen!
