On the 7th of October 2023, the entire nation of Israel woke up to the sound of missile sirens wailing, and the sounds of loud explosions overhead. Almost immediately afterwards the social media networks were buzzing with horrifying videos and news of the massacre of hundreds of Israeli civilians, young and old, in the kibbutz settlements bordering Gaza, at the hands of Hamas terrorists.
I don’t think there’s any need to go into detail to describe these horrific events, as everything has already been described and covered on the major news networks. Anyone who would like to know more about the events on that day can find a lot of information and many testimonies from survivors about the atrocities committed on that day by Hamas terrorists from Gaza.
For us as civilians, it was a tremendous shock and a new reality—the reality of war. Hundreds of thousands of Israeli army reservists were called up in a short space of time to defend their nation. Most of them didn’t even have time to pack essentials, but were rushed off to report to their designated army bases, without hesitation or a word of complaint. They were fully prepared to fight for the nation of Israel.
However, we as the people of Israel did not stand idly aside. Here at Beit Immanuel we mobilized in full force, as our staff and volunteers rushed to buy vast supplies of day-to-day essentials for the reserve soldiers on the military bases in our area. These daily essentials include toiletries, snacks, refreshments, clothing, and much more that our fighting men and women would need as they fulfilled their duties.
I would like to thank all of our friends and partners who did not stand by, but who took action, and who continue to take action by supporting the Israeli army and the people of Israel. The Lord is giving us an amazing opportunity to not only provide basic necessities to the soldiers of Israel, but also to present them with the good news of our Lord and Savior, Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel.
Friends, may the voices of our prayers not cease, and our hands remain lifted to heaven, until we see the victory of our Lord Yeshua manifest. Amen!
Isaiah 62:6-7 “On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the LORD in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth.”
To stand with us in providing our soldiers with daily essentials that they need as they lay their lives on the line to Israel, please prayerfully consider visiting or donate page at messianic-jews.org/donate to make a difference today. Thank you and God bless!
Blessings,
Pastor Aleksey
