Bearing Witness: Acts of Compassion in a Challenging Season

“For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’” – Deuteronomy 15:11

God has opened up numerous doors for our congregation to serve those in need. The Israel-Hamas war left people without jobs and sent many on unpaid leave while prices for food and gas skyrocketed, making it difficult for large families, single parents, and the elderly to provide basic necessities for themselves and for their families.

Our congregation immediately began preparing and distributing food bags to help families in our congregation, friends of those families, and people in our communities. This led to us helping Holocaust Survivors in one of the cities where some of our members live. We were able to visit these survivors, most of whom are 80 and 90 years old, give them food packages, speak with them, and ask them if they would like for us to pray for them. Most agreed and it gives us another wonderful opportunity to show them the love of Yeshua.

Pray for us as our country recently held municipal elections, and that these new elections would pave the way for further opportunities to serve our communities and be His light where we live.

For those who would like to join us in helping families in need, or providing food packages to Holocaust Survivors, you can partner with us here.
