As the summer draws to a close and a new school year approaches, many families in Israel feel the financial strain that comes with preparing their children for school. School supplies, backpacks, and books are just the beginning. For families with more than one child, the costs can quickly pile up.
But this year, the burden is even greater. The ongoing war has disrupted life in countless ways. Many parents in our community faced the effects of the war, including reduced hours or unexpected expenses due to the conflict. In these circumstances, even routine expenses, like buying school supplies, can become a heavy burden.
At Beit Immanuel, we believe that being part of the body of Messiah means walking with one another in real, tangible ways, not only in prayer and encouragement, but also through practical help. That’s why we’ve launched a new initiative called “Equipped for School”, designed to come alongside families in our community and ensure that every child starts the year with dignity, confidence, and the tools they need to succeed.
Through this project, we are supporting all families in the congregation who have children in preschool and school-age grades by helping them purchase the essential supplies needed for the school year. This includes items like backpacks, notebooks, pencils, art materials, lunch boxes, and more. A significant relief for parents already navigating a high cost of living.
Our calling as believers is to love one another deeply, to bear one another’s burdens, and to care for the “household of faith” (Galatians 6:10).
By equipping our children physically, we’re also building them up emotionally and spiritually. We’re reminding them that they belong, that they are seen and supported, and that their education matters, not only to their parents but to their spiritual family as well.
If you would like to partner with us in this effort, whether through financial support, donations of school supplies, or prayer, we would be deeply grateful. Together, we can ensure that no child in our midst is left behind, and that every student begins the year equipped not only with notebooks and pens but with the knowledge that they are deeply loved.
Let’s continue to be the hands and feet of Yeshua in word, in deed, and in everyday acts of kindness.
