Walking Through the Land Where the Bible Comes to Life

After completing his training as a tour guide, Aleksey has already had the opportunity to lead two excursions through Israel. What has been especially encouraging is seeing how people respond when the history and places they came to explore begin to open up questions about the Bible and about God.
There is something different about opening the Scriptures while standing in the places where the biblical story unfolded. Walking through the land, seeing the landscape, ancient roads and archaeological remains, people begin to picture the world of the Bible in a way that is difficult to experience from a book alone. Sometimes a detail that has been read many times suddenly makes sense when you are standing there.
But the goal is not simply to make the Bible come alive. The desire is that people would encounter the God of the Bible. That is why these are called evangelistic excursions.
One of the most encouraging parts has been seeing people who do not yet believe become genuinely curious. They may come because they are interested in history or archaeology, but along the way questions begin to emerge. Some have expressed a desire to keep travelling with the group and to learn more about God and the Scriptures. Those moments are especially meaningful because they create an opportunity to continue the conversation beyond the tour itself.
Paul writes, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.”
That is the heart of this ministry. The role is simply to be faithful, to open the Scriptures, answer questions, share the Gospel and plant seeds. What happens in a person's heart belongs to the Lord.
Please pray for every person who has taken part in these excursions. Pray that the conversations will continue, that questions will lead people deeper into Scripture and that the Holy Spirit will work in hearts in ways we cannot yet see.
There are also practical costs involved in developing this ministry, including transportation, equipment and preparation. If you would like to help make these evangelistic opportunities possible, financial partnership would be a great blessing.
The prayer is simple: that people who come to Israel looking for history, archaeology or beautiful places would leave having encountered the living God and heard the Good News of Yeshua.
